Waking up at 5am for Taipei’s Most Famous Breakfast
It's day 2 of my Taipei trip, and I woke up at 5 a.m. to try the most famous breakfast in Taipei.
The place is called Fu Hang Soy Milk (阜杭豆漿), and my friend recommended I try their soy milk.

Fu Hang Soy Milk is one of Taipei's most famous breakfast spots, known for its traditional Taiwanese breakfast items. Located on the second floor of the Hua Shan Market, it has been serving delicious breakfasts for decades and attracts both locals and tourists alike.
It took me almost an hour to get ready before I hopped on an MRT near my hotel to get to the Shandao Temple Station.
I thought I was pretty early, so I didn't expect the line to be too long. However, when I arrived around 6:45, there was already a huge lineup!
After doing some research, I found out that people start lining up before it opens at 5:30 a.m.!
After lining up for 45 minutes, I was finally able to go inside. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the first thing I saw was a lady making egg pancakes (Danbing) in a circular oven.
The windows were adorned with numerous Michelin recommended signs.
Almost there! You order first and then take a seat after picking up your food.
I ordered their hot Soy Milk (Doujiang) and Egg Pancake (Danbing).
Soy Milk (Doujiang)
Both sweet and savory versions are available, and it is typically served either hot or cold.

A savory pancake made with eggs, scallions.
I had never tried soy milk by itself before. The flavor was mild and perfect for breakfast. I also really enjoyed the egg pancake. The dough was wonderfully chewy, and its savoriness paired perfectly with the egg and scallions. It was worth the wait. Next time, I would love to try the Fried Dough Stick (Youtiao) with Seafood Soy Milk!
After enjoying breakfast, I had a delightful time walking around Taipei city in the pleasant weather.
